This song was a last minute addition to the album. I, very often, record guitar riffs/ideas into voice memos on my phone, which are usually disorganized and poorly played. During the "dark ages" of mixing Houdini (months), there were many days that I was too busy to even pick up my guitar, which gradually takes a toll on me if its multiple days in a row. After not playing for 4 days (an unprecedented amount of time), I picked up my guitar, hit record on my phone, and captured this song. I felt that it was a distinguished recording, though completely improvised, because of the strength and direction within it. Instead of using it as a starting point for a new song, it felt much more fitting to leave it completely raw. This was extremely liberating, as I was spending so much of my time focusing on the compiling details and problems within Houdini. This song gave my severe perfectionism no room to breathe, and serves as a balancing interlude for the more constructed songs around it.

Weeks later, an altercation next door to my house led to a smashed window and an all out brawl that I captured on a voice memo. I felt it was a great representation of the strange place where I reside. Hempstead is one dirty kingdom.
